Curated, artist-led works applied to the surfaces of a building. Windows, doors, façades and interior walls, programmed to the moments that matter.

Future Art partners with property developers, asset managers and placemakers to turn the everyday surfaces of a building into considered artworks. An activation is a curated, artist-led work applied to glazing, automatic entry doors, an external façade or an interior wall, designed to shift the experience of a space for a defined season or to hold as a permanent feature.

Art, not signage

Every activation begins with an artist and a Story, not a template. We commission or license original work, match it to the surface and the setting, and produce it to a high architectural standard. Finishes are specified for the context, including anti-glare and non-reflective options where lighting or sightlines require them, so the work reads as art rather than applied graphics.

One building, many surfaces

An activation can live almost anywhere across a property. Lobby and ground-floor glazing carries the most visible work, seen by tenants and the street at once. Automatic entry doors meet people at the threshold of the building. External façades extend the work to the building line and the public realm. Interior walls bring colour and narrative into lobbies, cafés and workplace floors. The same artwork and Story can move across these surfaces as a single, coherent activation.

Programmed to the calendar

Activations are often timed to the moments a building wants to mark. Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week, First Nations programming through the year, and Pride. For First Nations work we lead with the artist's Country, language group and the Story being told, and we partner directly with artists and art centres so the cultural knowledge is credited and the artist is properly remunerated. The result gives tenants something genuine to gather around, and gives the building a reason to tell its community a story.

From concept to completion

Future Art delivers the whole activation. Curation and artist selection, licensing and artist agreements, production, installation and de-installation, and the tenant-facing materials that help a building share the work with its community. One team and one point of contact, from the first brief to the final removal.
