Sculptures: Morgan Shimeld x Future Art July – October 2026

A new sculptural activation has arrived at 1 Denison, bringing together three contemporary works by acclaimed Sydney-based artist Morgan Shimeld, curated by Future Art.

Positioned at the south end of the lobby, the installation creates a striking visual moment that responds to the building's architectural language through form, materiality and scale. Together, the works establish a considered focal point that enhances the arrival experience while reinforcing 1 Denison's commitment to culture, design and placemaking.

About the Artist

Morgan Shimeld is recognised as one of Australia's leading contemporary sculptors working in geometric abstraction. His practice explores architecture, weight, line and balance through meticulously crafted works in bronze and steel.

Drawing inspiration from structural forms and spatial relationships, Shimeld creates sculptures that are both powerful and refined. His work has been exhibited widely across Australia and is held in significant private and public collections.

The Installation

The activation features a curated trio of sculptures presented as a single visual composition. Together, the works create a dialogue between contemporary art and the award-winning architecture of 1 Denison.

Anchoring the installation is Triplex On A Base, a monumental bronze sculpture whose interlocking geometric forms establish a strong architectural presence within the space. Accompanying works Elevation Black and Trimetric Large introduce contrast through their varied proportions, surfaces and patinas, creating rhythm and balance throughout the composition.

Viewed collectively, the sculptures invite visitors to experience shifting perspectives and new visual relationships as they move through the lobby. The result is a thoughtful and enduring installation that celebrates contemporary Australian sculpture while complementing the design excellence of 1 Denison.
